MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY
School is out, and summer is here.
It’s the perfect time to share the news about a recent partnership between Lewis and one of our local Southern California universities.
Earlier this spring, the Recruiting team at the Lewis Group of Companies, partnered with the UC Riverside Career Center to help provide graduating 2019 students with gently-used professional attire for their interviews, career fairs, and networking events.
It’s an important collaboration since a large percentage of UCR students are first-generation college students, making the purchase of professional attire another item on their list of financial burdens. Since launching the program in April 2018, it’s been a UCR success. To date, the university has gifted almost 1,500+ items to UCR students–and Lewis is happy to help. With generous donations from our Lewis employees, the Recruiting team donated three huge boxes of professional wear for students to use at job fairs, interviews and networking.
DRESSING FOR SUCCESS
As students launch their career and develop their teamwork and leadership skills, it’s essential to present themselves in a professional manner. Lewis is proud to work with local universities like UC Riverside who understand and are supportive with unique and local efforts like these.
As for this event, it was just one of the many events UCR and Lewis have shared over a 10+ year relationship between employer and university. Nice work everyone. Now go out there and land that job!
