What do you do at Lewis and what does a typical day look like?
Alyssa: As a Community Director at Sycamore Park, I make an effort to start the day with a calm and motivational atmosphere by reminding my team that we are all working toward the same goal: to do our best, strengthen the sense of community, and ensure that every person we encounter feels valued and supported.
What has your career path looked like?
Alyssa: I began my career with Lewis as a Community Administrator at HCP, then as the Assistant Community Director at Green Valley, which has brought me to my current role as Community Director at Sycamore Park.
How do you stay busy outside of the office?
Alyssa: Outside of work, I love spending time with my son—trying new restaurants, enjoying picnics at the beach, and reading the Word of God. And of course, between all these activities, there’s always a fiercely competitive Hot Wheels race, one that I almost never get to win!

What’s your go-to activity for unwinding after a long day?
Alyssa: After a long day, I enjoy taking time for self-reflection, whether through journaling or listening to a podcast that resonates with me in the moment. I find the evening to be a great opportunity to reflect on the experiences and lessons of the day, while they’re still fresh in my mind, and identify the key points that really stand out to me.
Do you have a favorite restaurant that you always go back to? What makes it special?
Alyssa: One of my absolute favorite places to go to is called Stella Jeans Ice Cream in Costa Mesa. They have some of the best ice cream and although my son and I are not locals to the area, I’m sure the staff would think otherwise by how often we go! Also, while on the topic of sweet treats, Dolce Gelato in Laguna in a must try as well!
