Eddie Gomez is the General Maintenance supervisor at Homecoming at Eastvale. He enjoys spending time with his family, attending his grandkids’ sporting events, and visiting Vegas with his wife of 27 years.

What has your career path looked like?

I started with Lewis in January of 2012 as a Maintenance Rover assisting several different properties. In 2012, I received rookie of the year at the Goldy awards. In 2013, I was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor at Somerset and at the end of the year I was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor at Sunscape. In 2015, I was again promoted to Maintenance Supervisor at Green Valley. Then, in 2017, I was promoted to Jamboree and completed the property remodel project and received Shop of the Year. In 2022, I was promoted to Homecoming at Eastvale as General Maintenance Supervisor. At Homecoming, my team has earned shop of the year in 2022 and 2024. In 2024, I was awarded General Maintenance Supervisor of the year. Hard work definitely pays off.

During this career path, I have worked with several amazing Regional Directors and Community Directors that I have learned from so much from each of them. Also, Charles and Paul have both had a big impact on my career growth here at Lewis.

What's your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is that every day is different and can vary from solving different property issues, communicating with residents while assisting with their issues and concerns, and especially being able to help my team whenever needed. I really enjoy helping and mentoring everyone I work with whenever possible. Being able to help my team achieve their goals and watching them receive promotions and grow within the company while utilizing what they have learned always makes me very proud. 13 years and counting :).

How do you stay busy outside of the office?

Outside of work, I enjoy going on family trips with my Wife of 27 years, our four kids, and our 8 grandkids. They keep us very busy, but we enjoy every moment with them. We enjoy going off-roading in the wintertime then heading to the river in the summertime.

Fun fact about me is that I attended my first festival last year and already bought our tickets to go back this year, EDC was an amazing experience. Of course, we like to attend our Raider games in Las Vegas as much as possible. We go to at least 3 home Raider games every year, and, c’mon, who doesn’t love Las Vegas?

What leadership qualities are important to you?

Loyalty and integrity are the two leadership qualities that have influenced me as a leader. I have had some great leaders here at Lewis that have shown these qualities and have made me become the leader that I am today. Loyalty to me is primarily about commitment, trust, and unity while motivating my team to work well together.

Integrity is about being an ethical and transparent supervisor to build trust and credibility within my team to further allow for my team to work productively. Also, integrity is about the decisions you make when nobody is looking. Incorporating loyalty and integrity into leadership strengthens individuals and creates a positive work environment.

Any personal mottos you turn to for inspiration?

I have two personal mottos that I have always turned to while living this thing called life. One has always been “family first”. My son has joked and called me “Toretto”. (IYKYK)
I’m very big on spending time with my family. I have made sure to instill that same motto in my kids now that they are all adults and have kids of their own.
The day I became a father, my lifelong goals changed. And the day I became a grandfather, my priorities changed. If you’re a grandparent, you know what I mean (lol).
My second motto would be “YOLO,” you only live once. It’s about the journey, not the destination. I have learned to embrace life and live in the moment because time does not stop for anybody. In December, I lost somebody very important to me and all that I have left are his memories. I will continue to live life in his honor and my motto of “YOLO”.

Reach out to Eddie directly at Eduardo.Gomez@lewismc.com to congratulate him on his hard work and perseverance that earned him many well-deserved accolades over the years, applaud him for the work environment he strives to achieve to further his role as a mentor and leader, or to challenge him on whether or not the Raiders will have a good upcoming season.
