After hip surgery, she was home alone and called Franklin for help with something routine. When he arrived within minutes and opened the door, he immediately smelled gas. He saw one of the stove burners was on but not lit. The smell was subtle enough that she hadn’t noticed it. She must have leaned on the knob the night before while reaching for the microwave. Franklin stayed calm, opened the patio door, turned off the burner, turned on a fan, and made sure everything was safe. His composure made all the difference. She lives alone 50% of the time, and as she shared in her message, this could have ended very differently without his quick response.
His calm response and willingness to help likely saved her life that day. It’s easy to take for granted the everyday calls and routine fixes, but this is a powerful reminder that sometimes those calls aren’t routine at all. Thank you, Franklin, for being the kind of person who stays calm in a crisis and shows up when people need help. Your professionalism made all the difference.
