One of those people is Charles Fox, who has also traveled up the ranks at Lewis. Starting as a Maintenance Technician in Chino Hills, Charles was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor, then Manager of Operations Training, and now to his current role as Manager of Maintenance & Safety Training, where he manages the Lewis Maintenance Apprenticeship Program. And the results speak for themselves!
- Almost 25% of current Lewis Maintenance Techs were a product of the Apprentice Program, with more & more every year!
- As of today, 4 of 26 Maintenance/Grounds Supervisors in SoCal were a product of our Apprentice Program
- 15% of Lewis Maintenance Supervisors were previously Maintenance Apprentices!

What’s your role on the Lewis team?
“I’m the Manager of Maintenance and Safety Training. I develop and facilitate all of the maintenance training catalog classes, help onboard new employees, manage the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program, and provide general support for Residential Property Management.”
What are you most passionate about in your Career?
“Helping others reach the next step in their career. And those lightbulb moments, when you can tell that what you’re training just sank in and they get it, those are great too!”
What do you do for fun when you’re not at work?
“Travel, movies, books, food, home projects, family.”
What is one project you are most proud of?
“The Maintenance Apprenticeship Program – my favorite part of the job is seeing their face when I tell a Groundskeeper that they’ve been promoted to a Maintenance Apprentice. It’s a blessing to be a part of something that may improve someone’s life.”
What keeps you coming to work at Lewis?
“I get to support and help people on the daily, what a cool job! I’m proud of what the company does, enjoy the people I work with, and feel blessed for the opportunities Lewis has given me.”
