Tell us what you enjoy most about your role?

Reymond: I enjoy completing service requests, fixing things for our residents. I like to build relationships, going into their unit and talking with them face-to-face. It’s an opportunity for me to educate them about their home and for them to share as well, how we can help them and how they can help us. I work weekends so I get to interact with a lot of residents who are home at that time, that’s honestly one of the best things for me.

What were you doing before you were a Maintenance Technician?

Reymond: Prior to Lewis, I worked for the Ontario-Montclair School District doing landscaping. What drew me to Lewis was the family environment, and the opportunity to invest in and develop myself. They matched my career investment, as much as I put in, they put into me, and I can see that’s a big reason for where I am today. I’ve been with Lewis for about a year, I’m happy about what I’ve achieved, and I’m learning more every day.

How do you stay busy outside of work?

Reymond: I enjoy spending time with my family, it’s my daughter that puts a smile on my face everyday and keeps me going. In my free time, I like to take it easy, not put too much on my plate, meditate, and enjoy something simple like going for a walk outside.

What is you favorite part of working with Lewis Careers?

Reymond: I’ve been blessed to have some great mentors at Lewis, people that push me to be the best I can be. I’ve felt support from everyone at every level, from co-workers, supervisors, community directors, maintenance directors, even residents. It’s like everyone is pushing me to keep going, to do better, and also teaching me along the way.
