Not Your Ordinary Meeting

Each quarter our Groundskeepers, Grounds Supervisors, Maintenance Technicians, and Maintenance Supervisors attend a quarterly meeting but it’s not your ordinary kind of meeting. We understand quarterly meetings can feel routine at times. So, why not jazz it up a bit? Our thoughts exactly!

Lewis Apartment Communities‘ quarterly Grounds and Maintenance meetings are a lively, fun, and anticipated function because it’s booming with camaraderie, enthusiasm, raffled prizes, awards, and recognition. Don Henderson, Director of Maintenance and Safety Training, Al Bennett, Director of Maintenance, and Doug Oyler, Senior Regional Director of Property Management, are positive and motivating in their approach in discussing and presenting relevant topics in these quarterly meetings.

Recognizing Our Employees

WIPP Program

A major component during the quarterly Grounds and Maintenance meetings are the special recognition given to employees. Every quarter cash prizes are raffled to employees who participate in our Water Intrusion Prevention Program (WIPP). If an employee has identified a possible water intrusion or has taken action to prevent a water intrusion then they are eligible for a chance to win a cash prize! Our recent winners for Q2 were Devin Almada, Groundskeeper at Santa Barbara Apartments, and Jesse Coronado, Maintenance Technician at The Enclave at Homecoming Terra Vista.

Certificate of Appreciation

Our Q2 Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to these employees for remarkable instances in which they went above and beyond:

Jesse Coronado, maintenance tech from The Enclave, received an acknowledgement for quickly coming to the aid of a landscape vendor who was experiencing the effects of heat illness. Jesse is totally a superstar in our book.

Ryan Baker, maintenance supervisor from Sunscape, received an acknowledgement for being instrumental in the recovery of stolen items and also the capture of the perpetrator. Ryan gets the superhero award!

Lee Ward, maintenance tech from Del Mar, received an acknowledgement for always being willing to go above and beyond to help his team and to mentor anyone who wants to learn how to be a maintenance technician. Talk about selfless! Cheers to that!
