What do you do at Lewis and what does a typical day look like?

I work as a Portfolio Leasing Consultant at Lewis, which means every day is different. My role requires me to provide support to whichever property needs it most that day. Sometimes, I can be at multiple properties in a day, and I’m typically at 3-5 different properties a week. While at these properties, I’m helping with leasing responsibilities, which includes touring, follow-ups, and approving applicants for move-in.

What's your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is getting to know the people, which includes the clients, the team members at each property and even the vendors. I have a real passion for the people aspect of this business and have always enjoyed getting to know everyone’s stories. As Dr. Suess says, “today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is you-er than you.”

What were you doing before Lewis?

Before Lewis, I was cooking up burgers, pouring shakes and slicing potatoes at the local In-N-Out Burgers. In the 5 years I spent working there, I developed strong customer services skills and a passion for quality that has stuck with me ever since. A common phrase used amongst us In-N-Out folk is “right on,” and after all these years I still haven’t been able to shake the habit of saying it in place of “okay.”

What's your proudest work achievement? And non-work achievement?

My proudest work achievement is, without a doubt, winning Leasing Consultant of the Year at the 2024 Goldy’s. I’ve done a lot and accomplished many things, but that was by far my proudest moment. My proudest non-work achievement is my family. I have a beautiful wife, a perfect 2-year-old daughter, and a son on the way. Since I was young, a family is something I’ve always known I wanted, so this is by far the most important thing in my life.

What’s been your happiest memory of late?

Finding out that I’m expecting a baby boy has been my happiest memory recently. I’m the youngest of four, and the only boy, so it was thrilling to get the news. I don’t think we are done building this family and I’m excited to learn what it takes to be a father to more than one beautiful child.
