This year’s second-quarter Credo Winners are Ely Resendiz, a Groundskeeper at Homecoming at The Resort, and Jonathan Madrigal, a Maintenance Technician from Homecoming at The Resort. They were both nominated due to their quick action and compassion for their residents, as displayed in this event:
A resident’s dog jumped from a third-floor balcony and suffered severe injuries. Ely and Jonathan witnessed the incident and immediately ran to help without hesitation. The dog was actively seizing, but Ely and Jonathan remained calm and showed tremendous courage while helping the resident during an extremely frightening and emotional situation. Afterward, Ely and Jonathan continued checking in, asking if there were any updates on the dog because they were genuinely concerned about its condition and the resident’s well-being. Unfortunately, the resident later informed us that the dog’s injuries were too severe and that they had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize it. Although the outcome was devastating, the resident specifically expressed how grateful they were for Ely and Jonathan’s compassion. They shared that their support made all the difference during one of their most difficult moments. Ely and Jonathan’s courage, quick response, and continued concern truly demonstrated our Credo values and showed the kind of people they are.
