Tell us about yourself?
I am a busy mom of 2 children: my son Deven is an athletic junior at a local high school who is dual enrolled at UNR, and my daughter Lilith attends UNR for the R.N. program while staying active in the Air National Guard. If I am not cheering for them at games, I am usually volunteering with the PTA or snack shack or assisting the local roller derby league. My partner in life, Dan, is my best friend, and I am so blessed to have this life with him by my side. We have one Cane Corso dog, Bruno, and two fluffy cats. I am an engaged community member with the Reno City Council NAB and RTC. I enjoy attending music events, sporting events, and traveling to new places.
What gets you excited?
I tend to get excited about traveling to new places and exploring. My hobbies are gardening, as I have many fruiting trees on my property, as well as roller skating with the local roller derby team here in Reno, Sierra Regional Roller Derby. My areas of interest range from local development to transportation. I currently sit as Vice Chair on the Ward 4 neighborhood advisory board for the City of Reno as well as the CMAC advisory committee for RTC. Working in property management allows me to serve my community in a rewarding way by finding community members a place to call home.

How do you define success, and what drives you to achieve that?
Extraordinary Results: this is how I learned to define success. It’s a concept of “transformative learning,” which helps me gain awareness of fundamental ways of thinking, knowing, and acting. I try to always take in a fresh perspective and create positive possibilities with each new experience.

Before Lewis, I was a Community Director for Axis Residential in the first lease up in Nevada for the company. Any goals for 2025/26?
As Maya Angelou said, “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude,” Kelly has discovered that creating positive experiences in every interaction allows for countless possibilities. Whether she’s navigating the fast-paced action on the roller derby track or guiding community members, Kelly believes that excellence is the standard. Whether you’d like to share stories of your own transformative experiences,, or connect over the parallels between teamwork on the track and in property management, Kelly would love to hear from you.
