In my employee spotlight, I mentioned that my wife Amber had launched a new business called Freeland Family Farms in mid-2025. Since that post, the business has grown significantly with new products, new locations, and now a big announcement.
Freeland Family Farms will be at the L.A. County Fair this May, selling our products and running the Dairy Days event, which highlights local businesses in the dairy industry. You can find us near the petting farm barns. Hope to see you there!

Our milk comes from cows that produce only the A2 beta-casein protein, bottled as cream-top milk, meaning the cream naturally rises to the top just as it should. We keep processing minimal, with a focus on freshness, flavor, and simple ingredients. All our milk is low-heat pasteurized, which eliminates pathogens while preserving natural enzymes, vitamins, and the natural structure of protein and fat. Most conventional milk contains a mix of A1 and A2 beta-casein proteins. A2 milk is considered closer to what cows originally produced before selective breeding introduced the A1 protein into many herds. Many people find A2 milk easier to digest than conventional milk, and recent studies have pointed to additional potential health benefits.
We have partnered with Gioia Cheese, a family-owned Italian father-and-son operation that crafts cheese without preservatives using traditional Italian methods. We supply the milk; they supply the cheese, including fresh mozzarella, burrata, panela, ricotta, queso fresco, Oaxaca, and more.
The veterinarian who cares for our cows runs his own farm in Winchester, where he makes flavored goat cheeses. Since he doesn’t have time to attend markets regularly, we sell his products at our markets and through home pickup orders. A neighboring farmer, a good friend of the vet, produces over a hundred varieties of goat and cow cheeses, many of which are now available through Freeland Family Farms as well.
We take pride in bringing together so many great people and businesses as part of what we’re building here.
Where to Find Us
Freeland Family Farms operates out of our home in Woodcrest, Riverside, with weekly porch pickups available for pre-ordered items. We offer limited delivery for larger orders, including several homeschool groups. I can occasionally be spotted rolling an ice chest through the halls of North Mountain Pro Park, stocked with milk, cheese, and bread for fellow Lewis employees who’ve put in a request.
You can also find us at the Woodcrest Farmers Market, both Tanaka Farms locations in Irvine and Costa Mesa, and starting in June, at County Line Market in Yucaipa on Thursdays. Our milk has also found its way into local coffee houses, and the richness makes for an exceptional latte.
Thank You
To every Lewis employee who has tried our products, shared the word, offered feedback, or simply cheered us on over the past year, thank you. Your support has made a real difference and has allowed us to grow, develop, and share our passion with a wider community.

Josh has been with Lewis since 2004. He spent 10 years in Residential Management at Homecoming at Eastvale, before making the switch to Retail Property Manager. Josh is currently the Manager of Commercial Facilities overseeing many Commercial projects and processes. He lives in the Woodcrest area of Riverside with his wife and two kids. Time away from work is spent helping run Freeland Family Farms, going to the gym, watching football (Go Steelers!) and having fun with the family.
