Lewis Cares

The Lewis Group of Companies has a longstanding history of local philanthropy geared towards community building in the Inland Empire. As Executive Vice President Randall Lewis says, “when you are successful in a community, you have an obligation to give back.”

To honor that core tenet, Lewis recently launched a micro-philanthropy campaign. Through the campaign, teams or employees can select an organization, cause, or individual they find impactful, meaningful, or have personal ties to and Lewis will contribute on their behalf. The campaign is built on the core pillars of targeting local organizations, building relationships to serve the greater population, and creating value through experience while upholding tradition of engaging with the community.

Jessica Martinez, Leasing Manager at the Enclave at Homecoming Terra Vista, nominated CASA LA after attending an event and becoming a fan of the work they do. “I was introduced to Casa LA through one of their representatives who is in the same workout group as I am, Stronger Together. The team ran a 3k back in September in their honor. Casa LA advocates for children and families in the welfare system to ensure they have all the tools and resources needed to thrive.”

With over 33,000 children in LA county’s foster care system, CASA LA works to support and assist children and families in the overburdened child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Of those 33,000, CASA LA estimates that 12,000 children are in urgent care. Donations to CASA LA go towards being able to serve those children in the system directly.

Marie Carpenter, Chief Development Officer for CASA LA, facilitated the process for Lewis. As Marie says, “CASA of Los Angeles is grateful to Lewis Management for supporting our mission to organize community volunteers who take action to advocate for children and families in LA County’s overburdened child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Through the support of Lewis Management, CASA/LA is able to continue to provide life-changing one-to-one advocacy for the most vulnerable children in our community so they can have access to healthcare, education and a stable home that ALL children deserve.”
