The stunning mosaics of Pompeii survived a volcanic eruption and still captivate visitors nearly 2,000 years later. The breathtaking golden mosaics in the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul have told stories of faith and culture for over 1,500 years. Roman Emperor Justinian commissioned elaborate mosaics in Ravenna, Italy, that remain vibrant today. Even modern artists like Antoni Gaudí transformed Barcelona with his colorful mosaic work at Park Güell.
